You Got Here Holding Somebody Else’s Answer
Somebody already told you what this is.
Anxiety, probably. Or trauma, or the rough season everybody your age is supposedly having.
A coworker with ADHD looked at you sideways and asked whether you needed a pill, as she does. Or your doctor said she won’t prescribe anything until someone tests you.
Either way, you’re here because the explanation you were handed quit matching what your days look like.
Brilliant Plans, Terrible Execution
Planning was never the problem. Your plans are good.
The gap between what you meant to get done and what got done keeps widening, and the powerhouse version of you is the one you want back.
The job still gets covered. It’s the kitchen counter, the permission slip, and the birthday you meant to plan that give it away.
Nobody screened you in third grade because your grades were fine, and nobody saw anything to question.
Or You’ve Been Wondering About Autism
You’ve been in therapy, and it has helped. One question has stayed open the whole time.
Trauma was the working theory, and it was a sound one. Trauma and autism can present almost identically, especially in a region carrying so much trauma.
You want that question settled so the work you’re already doing can get more specific.
You’ll want to know what Dr. Medley used and why. Ask.

And if You’re Calling About Your Child
The school has a theory. The last evaluation had a different one, and the one before that had a third.
What you asked for was peace in the house, not a document listing everything your child can’t do.
An evaluation should tell you how your kid’s brain operates, what to ask the school for in writing, and what you can quit fighting about before school.
Parents tend to leave that meeting steadier than they walked in, and that comes down to how the evaluation gets built.
Dr. Medley Is Going to Over-Screen You
Dr. Meagan Medley does all the psychological testing and evaluation at Sageberry, and she’ll tell you up front that she goes overboard on purpose.
The interview is structured, and the testing battery is the long version. There are more rating scales than most people expect; anxiety, trauma, and mood all get checked deliberately instead of being assumed.
She rules things out as carefully as she rules them in, because the first answer that fits isn’t always the true one.
Sometimes, the findings include that your environment is a problem and that your mental health is affected. She’ll tell you that, too.
Three Appointments Between You and Your Answer
Step 1
A one-hour virtual intake interview, covering your developmental and life history
Step 2
A three-hour testing session, long on purpose
Step 3
Two to four weeks of report writing while insurance authorization clears, faster without it
Step 4
A one-hour feedback session where the whole report gets walked through in plain language
The feedback session is the one Dr. Medley gets the most out of. It’s where your history quits reading like a list of personal failures and starts reading like a brain doing exactly what it was built to do.

Then You Take the Answer Somewhere
An answer is only worth something if somebody does something with it.
Until recently, that meant Dr. Medley handed over a report and sent people off to find a therapist on their own.
Sageberry now has two counselors, so that step happens here instead of starting over with a stranger.
Dr. Brent Powell, LPC, works full-time out of the New Albany office with adults, couples, and men’s issues. Jeremiah Andrews, LPC, works virtually with adolescents, young adults, and adults, grounded in CBT and DBT.
You Can Start with Counseling Instead
Plenty of people come here for counseling and never need an evaluation at all.
Individual therapy. Couples work. CBT and DBT for the stretches when your own thoughts are running the show.
Each clinician here keeps the caseload they were built for, with no volume quota, and no pushing you toward whoever happens to have an opening.
Testing is where some people start. For others, it never comes up, and either way, the wait to get in here is short.

No-pressure Consultation
Put Your Name on the Schedule
The consultation is free, and it’s short. You’ll tell us what’s been happening, and we’ll tell you whether testing, counseling, or neither one is the right call.
You don’t have to live in the unknown.

Our Mission & Origin
Welcome to Sageberry Psychology
Sageberry means fruitful wisdom. Dr. Medley founded the practice in 2025 because there are few testing providers in this region. Most of them are booked a year or two out.
Now we have expanded and provide virtual counseling services across Mississippi, as well as virtual adult ADHD and adult Autism testing in most states (see more in the FAQ).
People who need services but don’t have the time or access to great therapists can find them through Sageberry Psychology.
There are four testing providers in this region. Most of them are booked a year or two out.
Sageberry is booking about a month out. The evaluation itself then runs for three to four weeks from intake to feedback when insurance requires authorization.
That gap is the entire reason this practice exists.
Stop guessing. Start growing.
If you are ready to close the gap between the life you envision and the life you are living, the answers start with clarity.
Our comprehensive psychological testing uncovers the precise cognitive and emotional patterns holding you back, while our compassionate counseling provides practical tools to rebuild your relationships and reclaim your momentum.
Take the first step toward clinical clarity and lasting change.
